National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR) proudly inaugurated two state-of-the-art Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), each with a capacity of 30 KLD, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s commitment to environmental sustainability. The facility was officially commissioned by Dr. Thamban Meloth, Director, NCPOR.
With a maximum treatment capacity of 60,000 litres per day, the plant will enable efficient recycling and reuse of wastewater for campus horticulture and landscaping needs. This initiative will substantially reduce freshwater consumption, minimize environmental impact, and reinforce NCPOR’s role as a responsible and sustainable research institution.
