Dr. Thamban Meloth, Director, NCPOR, delivered a comprehensive presentation titled “Exploring the Poles and Deep Ocean – Indian Endeavors”, highlighting India’s scientific and logistical achievements in the Arctic, Antarctic, Southern Ocean, and the Himalayas. The session provided insights into India’s polar research expeditions, deep ocean exploration initiatives, climate studies, and the critical role of NCPOR in supporting national missions in extreme environments.
The delegation also experienced an engaging Science on a Sphere (SOS) demonstration, offering an immersive visual understanding of polar sea ice variability, Earth system processes, and the impacts of climate change across high-latitude regions.
