Dr. D. Bala Subrahamanyam, Senior Scientist (Scientist/Engineer–SG) and Head of the Numerical Atmosphere Modelling (NAM) Branch at the Space Physics Laboratory, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Indian Space Research Organisation, visited NCPOR and delivered an engaging talk titled “Field of Atmospheric Modelling: The Lakshman Rekha – Face Your Inhibitions.” Using the concept of the Lakshman Rekha as a metaphorical boundary between abilities and perceived limitations, he emphasized the importance of overcoming inhibitions in research.
The talk highlighted understanding simple plots, strengthening programming skills, and moving beyond comfort zones. He concluded that growth in research requires patience, clarity, and continuous learning.
