Fostering a Cleaner Tomorrow: Swachhta Activities Underway at NCPOR

NCPOR is observing Swachhta Pakhwada from 1st to 15th July 2025, with a series of awareness programmes and cleanliness activities aimed at promoting hygiene, sustainability, and environmental responsibility across the campus through active staff participation.

• Day 1 (01 July): The campaign began with a campus-wide Shraamdaan. Despite the rain, dedicated staff collected 12 bags of plastic waste, reflecting strong commitment to cleanliness and teamwork.
  
  
• Day 2 (02 July) : NCPOR conducted Swachhata ki Bhagidaari, a lab and office cleanup drive, where staff decluttered and organized workspaces, reinforcing responsibility for cleanliness.
  
  
• Day 3 (03 July) : ‘Wealth from Plastics’ Competition showcased 40+ innovative staff exhibits made from plastic waste, promoting upcycling and creative reuse for sustainability.
  
  
• Day 4 (04 July): Special cleanup drives were conducted at Indian research stations—Maitri, Bharati (Antarctica) & Himadri (Arctic)—highlighting NCPOR’s commitment to environmental stewardship in polar regions.
  
  
• Day 5 (07 July): NCPOR hosted Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir to felicitate housekeeping & gardening staff for their vital role in campus upkeep.
