Only one month after the International Arctic Science Committee has awarded NCAOR early career scientist Shridhar D. Jawak the IASC fellowship, the Rachapudi Kamakshi Memorial now has awarded him the Young Geospatial Scientist Award.
Shridhar Jawak received the award in recognition of his innovative work in cryosphere and development of tools and techniques for extraction of geospatial information from satellite images in the Antarctic region supported by field investigations in the hostile environment.
The award which consists of a gold medal, certificate of merit and a citation plaque, was received by Dr. Alvarinho J. Luis (supervisor) during the Geospatial World Forum held from 23 to 25 January 2017 in Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Hyderabad, India.
