The Indian Antarctic Station Bharati including the life support systems, Scientific Instrumentation and Satellite Data Communication facilities is and continues to be fully functional. All scientific activities are in progress without disruption. Being a round-the-year research base, the station has never been closed down since its commissioning in 2012. Only the satellite communication facilities were affected for five days in October of this year when the power supply to the Earth Station was switched off.
