A joint Workshop on Polar Research in New Delhi 13-14 November 2013

An Indo-Norwegian bilateral workshop on polar research was held at MoES, New Delhi from the 13^th -14^th November, 2013. The workshop was attended by scientists/officials from the MoES, Royal Norwegian Embassy at New Delhi, Research Council of Norway, Norwegian Polar Institute, University of Oslo, the  University Centre in Svalbard, NCAOR, INCOIS, NIOT, and SPL.  The workshop was aimed at enhancing scientific exchange and cooperation between India and Norway in the Polar Regions. Dr. Sahilesh Nayak, Secretary MoES and Chairman-ESSO gave the keynote speech with other notable attendees including Norway`s Ambassador to India, Mr. Eivind S. Homme, Dr. S. Rajan (Director, NCAOR) and Dr. Kim Holmén (International Director, NPI). The key note address was followed by several presentations covering glaciology, atmospheric sciences, physical oceanography and biogeochemistry.
