Unravelling Glacier–Lake Dynamics in the Himalaya.

The NCPOR team has completed its second field task at Samudra Tapu Glacier, advancing studies of the glacier–proglacial lake system.

• Established a new HydroMat site at the lake outlet.
• Conducted sub-bottom profiling to assess sediment accumulation and spatial surface-sediment collection.
• Estimated glacial surface ablation.

Together, these observations are helping scientists unravel how the glacier and its proglacial lake function—and how they are responding to a changing climate.
